REPORT OF THE RURAL OUTREACH BY THE CHAPEL OF HIS RESURRECTION (COHR) ESUTH PARKLANE TO IME-AMA, NOMEH, NKANU EAST LGA OF ENUGU STATE ON 15TH-17TH NOVEMBER, 2013.
The outreach Committee, joined by other members of the Church, set out for the outreach on Friday, 15th November 2013 having had series of preparatory visits to Nomeh prior to that time.
At Ime-ama Nomeh Community square, the outreach started with an open crusade. The crusade started with prayers, songs of praise and worship and then a Christian movie; “Jisos na-asu Igbo” was introduced by our brother Mr. Damian Duruewuru.
The villagers were touched as they watched what Jesus had to go through in order to pay for our sins.
After the drama, a life changing message was delivered by…………..who, by the help of the Holy Spirit, persuaded the villagers to see the need to receive Christ into their lives. During the prayers, the villagers yielded to Lord’s call as a great number gave their lives to Christ; men, women and children alike.
SATURDAY, 16TH NOVEMBER.
In the morning, the church outreach team went out for one-on-one evangelism to the villagers’ homes. They interacted with and shared the word of God freely with them. Some of villagers also surrendered to the Lord.
Later that morning, a medical outreach, anchored by a team of health care professionals from the chapel and supported by the outreach team, was held at the Ime-ama village square. Members of Ime-ama village as well as other neighbouring villages like Umukanbi, Uhuafor e.tc tropped out enmass to receive health care. In addition to medical care, they were also given the word, counseling, prayers and numerous gift items including clothes, shoes, bags, toiletries, etc. In all, about ?? men, ?? women and ?? children were attended to.
After the medical outreach, the outreach team refreshed their spirits with a bible study session. After the bible study, they rested briefly and then set out for the evening open-air crusade.
The crusade started with opening prayers and then a praise and worship session.
Subsequently, a playlet captioned, “……………” was acted by the drama group which eventually formed the fulcrum of the message delivered by Brother Damian Duruewuru. He emphasized the importance of having Jesus as the Lord of our lives. Following the sermon, many people gave their lives to Christ and prayers were made for them.
After the sermon, the movie; “The glorious Arrest” was played for them before dismissal.
SUNDAY, 17TH NOVEMBER.
The Inaugural Sunday worship took place with ?? Adult villagers and ?? Children in attendance. There were prayer sessions and then praise and worship.

The sermon was delivered, largely in their local dialect, by the Chaplain of COHR ESUTH Parklane, Ven. Prof Sam Ike. He threw light on the freedom, hope, peace and inner joy that comes from knowing Christ. Anyone who believes in Christ is hidden in Him, therefore such a one has full and total protection.
At the end of the sermon, the Venerable prayed for the villagers laying his hands on them. He committed them into the hands of God. The villagers could not hide their feelings as they expressed their joy over the planting of a new Anglican Church in their community.
