The Right Prayer.

From, Ven. Prof. Sam Ike

In these days of vast, unprecedented knowledge of God’s Word, it is a surprise that sometimes, very good Christians still contradict God’s Word in prayers.

I would’ve thought that God might overlook that and still answer, until I came across Psalm 138:2b;

“….for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.” (KJV)

“….for you have exalted above all things your name and your word.” (NIV)

The effectiveness of a prayer is not in the length of time, it lies in the ability of the name being petitioned to produce results. If His Word is above His name, (or like the NIV translation states – they are both above all things), the name cannot produce what negates the Word.

There’s no shortcut to a victorious Christian life. We must give ourselves continually to the Word and then to prayers.
