Walking Through the Bible – 2015 Devotional Guide.

20 December –   26 December (2 Samuel Chapters 19 – 24)

Meditation for the week:

With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.

With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury. (2 Samuel 22:26-27 – KJV)

Consider this: Are you upright and merciful in dealings?

13 December –   19 December (2 Samuel Chapters 12 – 18)

Meditation for the week:

And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel. For the LORD had appointed to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that the LORD might bring evil upon Absalom. (2 Samuel 17:14 – KJV)

Who is your most trusted counselor? If your most trusted counselor is a man, he will fail you one day just like Ahithophel, but God’s Word never fail. Let the Word of God be your daily counselor.

29 November –   05 December (2 Samuel Chapters 5 – 11)

Meditation for the week:

And the ARK of the LORD continued in the house of Obededom the Gittite three months: and the LORD blessed Obededom, and all his household. (2 Samuel 6:11 – KJV)

Is the ARK of God’s presence in your home? Then watch out for God’s blessings in your home.

22 November –   28 November (1 Samuel Chapters 29 – 31 and 2 Samuel Chapters 1-4)

Meditation for the week:

And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? Shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all (1 Samuel 30:8 – KJV).

Did you enquire of the Lord concerning that pursuit?

If yes, then pursue it with all your might; for thou shalt surely overtake, and without fail recover all because the Lord is with you in it!

15 November –   21 November (1 Samuel Chapters 22 – 28)

Meditation for the week:

The LORD render to every man his righteousness and his faithfulness: for the LORD delivered thee into my hand to day, but I would not stretch forth mine hand against the LORD’S anointed. (1 Samuel 26:23 – KJV)

Because of the fear of the Lord, David did not take judgment into his hand to harm the Lord’s anointed.

Do you have the fear of the Lord in your heart? The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom.

08 November –  14 November (1 Samuel Chapters 15 – 21)

Meditation for the week:

45Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.

46This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, ——–

47And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD’S, and he will give you into our hands. (1 Samuel 17:45-47 – KJV)

Are there giant battles that confront you today? Know it surely that God will give you victory; For the Lord saveth not with sword and spears!

01 November –  07 November (1 Samuel Chapters 8 – 14)

Meditation for the week:

11“What have you done?” asked Samuel. Saul replied, “When I saw that the men were scattering, and that you did not come at the set time, and that the Philistines were assembling at Micmash,

12I thought, ‘Now the Philistines will come down against me at Gilgal, and I have not sought the Lord’s favor.’ So I felt compelled to offer the burnt offering.”12

13“You acted foolishly,” Samuel said. “You have not kept the command the Lord your God gave you; if you had, he would have established your kingdom over Israel for all time. (1 Samuel 13:11-13 – NIV)

What then Brethren? Will you be patient and wait on the Lord? Or will you consider the people around, panic and then let go of God’s love and plan for you? Beloved! Keep step with Jesus and He will surely establish you and your family.

25 October –  31 October (1 Samuel Chapters 1 – 7)

Meditation for the week:

8He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes and has them inherit a throne of honor. For the foundations of the earth are the Lord’s; upon them he has set the world

9He will guard the feet of his saints, but the wicked will be silenced in darkness. It is not by strength that one prevails. (1 Samuel 2:8-9 – NIV)

What then Brethren? Surely the arm of flesh will fail man, but as you put your trust in the Lord, you shall not be disappointed, for even the very foundations of the earth, are the Lord’s.

18 October –  24 October (Judges Chapters 20 – 21; Ruth 1 – 4)

Meditation for the week:

16And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:

17 Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the Lord do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me. (Ruth 1:16-17 – KJV)

NOTE that this solemn commitment of Ruth, bestowed God’s blessing upon her.

God is also ready to bless you and your family as you show commitment in your walk with Him.

11 October –  17 October (Judges Chapters 13 – 19)

Meditation for the week:

28 And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.

30 And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life. (Judges 16:28, 30 – KJV)

Examine Samson’s prayers in verse 28 & 30: Do you think God would have restored Samson’s vision if he asked?

Learn to forgive yourself, because God has already forgiven you if you will care to ask for forgiveness.

04 October –  10 October (Judges Chapters 6 – 12)

Meditation for the week:

And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee? (Judges 6:14 – KJV)

What has the Lord asked you to do? Go, for the Lord is with you, though your strength be little!

27 September –  03 October (Joshua Chapters 23 – 24; Judges Chapters 1 – 5)

Meditation for the week:

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD”. (Joshua 24:15)

Have you resolved today whom you will serve?

20 September –  26 September (Joshua Chapters 16 – 22)

Meditation for the week:

44And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he swore unto their fathers: . . . . . . . . . . . . . .  .…………………………………………………………………

45 There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass. (Joshua 21: 44-45 – KJV )

Do you seem to experience delay concerning the word of the Lord to you? Be encouraged for everything He said shall surely come to pass!

06 September –  19 September (Joshua Chapters 8 – 15)

Meditation for the week: And the LORD said unto Joshua, “Fear not, neither be thou dismayed: take all the people of war with thee, and arise, go up to Ai: see, I have given into thy hand the king of Ai, and his people, and his city, and his land.” (Joshua 8:1 – KJV)

Are you filled with fear concerning that challenge? The Lord is saying to you today, “Fear not”, because He has already given you victory in Christ.

30 August –  05 September (Joshua Chapters 1 – 7)

Meditation for the week: “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success”. (Joshua 1:8, KJV)

Do you desire good success? Then meditate on God’s Word and put them to practice!

23 August –  29 August (Deuteronomy Chapters 28 – 34)

Meditation for the week:

The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things, which are revealed, belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law (Deuteronomy 29:29, KJV).

Do you know the things that freely belong to you in Christ?

16 August –  22 August (Deuteronomy Chapters 21 – 27)

Meditation for the week:

When thou shalt vow a vow unto the LORD thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the LORD thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee”.   (Deuteronomy 23:21, KJV)

Have you made a vow unto the Lord? Then redeem it without delay!

09 August –  15 August (Deuteronomy Chapters 15 – 20)

Meditation for the week:

19 Do not pervert justice or show partiality. Do not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous.

20 Follow justice and justice alone, so that you may live and possess the land the Lord your God is giving you.     (Deuteronomy 16:19-20, NIV)

Do you pervert justice when you have the powers to do so? Do you take bribes?

STOP TODAY AND RETURN TO THE LORD IN REPENTANCE!

02 August –  08 August (Deuteronomy Chapters 8 – 14)

Meditation for the week:  And now, O Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul,  and to observe the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good? (Deuteronomy 4:12-13, NIV)

Do you love the Lord with all your heart?

26 July –  01 August (Deuteronomy Chapters 1 – 7)

Meditation for the week:  ” Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons’ sons”. (Deuteronomy 4:9)

Do you take time to teach your Children the Lord’s ways?

19 July –  25 July (Numbers Chapters 28 – 29)

Meditation for the week:  But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell. (Numbers 33:55)

Is there anything the Lord is asking you to do away with?

12 July –  18 July (Numbers Chapters 22 – 27)

Meditation for the week:  God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? (Numbers 23:19)

Has the Lord made promises to you? Be assured, He will fulfill it!

05 July –  11 July (Numbers Chapters 15 – 21)

Meditation for the week:  And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them. (Numbers 20:12)

Unbelief stopped Moses from entering the promised land. Do not allow it to stop you!

28 June –  04 July (Numbers Chapters 8 – 14)

Meditation for the week:  At the commandment of the LORD the children of Israel journeyed, and at the commandment of the LORD they pitched: as long as the cloud abode upon the tabernacle they rested in their tents. (Numbers 9: 18 )

Do you want to get to your promised land? Move at the Lord’s command!

21 June –  27 June (Numbers Chapters 1 – 7)

Meditation for the week:  And the LORD spoke unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the congregation, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying,

Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, after their families, by the house of their fathers, with the number of their names, every male by their polls; (Numbers 1: 1-2)

Do you know the Lord still takes count of those who present themselves before Him every day? Is your name there in the book?

14 June –  20 June (Leviticus Chapters 23 – 27)

Meditation for the week:  If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them;  Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time: and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.

And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land. (Leviticus 26:3-5)

Do you want your rain of blessings in due season?

Walk in the Lord’s statutes, and the Lord shall never fail you!

07 June –  13 June (Leviticus Chapters 17 – 23)

Meditation for the week:  – Leviticus 18:1-5

1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am the LORD your God.

3 After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances.

4 Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the LORD your God.

5 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the LORD.

Do you want to live? Then do whatever He tells you to do and you shall live!

31 May –  06 June (Leviticus Chapters 9 – 16)

Meditation for the week:  And Moses said, this is the thing which the LORD commanded that ye should do; and the glory of the LORD shall appear unto you. (Leviticus 9:6)

Why are you not seeking the Glory of the Lord in your life?

Are you doing what He said you should do?

24 May – 30 May 2015 (Leviticus Chapters 1 – 8)

Meditation for the week:  And Moses brought Aaron and his sons, and washed them with water.

And he put upon him the coat, and girded him with the girdle, and clothed him with the robe, and put the ephod upon him, and he girded him with the curious girdle of the ephod, and bound it unto him therewith.

And he put the breastplate upon him: also he put in the breastplate the Urim and the Thummim.  (Leviticus 8:6-8)

What kind of garment are you wearing in your spirit right now?

17 May – 23 May 2015 (Exodus Chapters 34 – 40)

Meditation for the week: According to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel made all the work.

And Moses did look upon all the work, and, behold, they had done it as the LORD had commanded, even so had they done it: and Moses blessed them. And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies).  (Exodus 39:42-43)

ARE YOU DOING THAT WORK AS THE LORD HAS COMMANDED YOU TO DO IT, OR ARE YOU FOLLOWING YOUR OWN PRESCRIPTION?

10 May – 16 May 2015 (Exodus Chapters 27 – 34)

Meditation for the week:  And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies).

Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD’S side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.   (Exodus 32: 25-26)

ARE YOU ON THE LORD’S SIDE? THEN COME UNTO HIM!

03 May – 09 May 2015 (Exodus Chapters 21 – 27)

Meditation for the week: 1 Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.

2 Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment:

7 Keep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous slay thou not: for I will not justify the wicked.

8 And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous.

9 Also thou shalt not oppress a stranger: for ye know the heart of a stranger, seeing ye were strangers in the land of Egypt. (Exodus 23:1-2,7,8,9)

Do you still bear false witness ? Do you still take bribe as a Christian? Do you still follow the crowd to do evil?

26 April – 02 May 2015 (Exodus Chapters 14 – 21)

Meditation for the week:  And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:

But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea. (Exodus 14:13-16)

ARE YOU ANXIOUS OVER THAT SITUATION OR HOLDING YOUR PEACE IN GOD?

IN PEACE YOU SHALL MOVE FORWARD!

19 April – 25 April 2015 (Exodus Chapters 7 – 14)

Meditation for the week:  For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.

And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.  (Exodus 12:12-13)

Are you washed in that blood of the Lamb that brings salvation, deliverance?

12 April – 18 April 2015 (Exodus Chapters 1 – 7)

Meditation for the week:  And the LORD said, I have surely seen the afflictions of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;  And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; — (Exodus 3:7-8)

God has heard your cry and the time to favour you, yea the set time has come. (Psalm 102: 13)

05 April – 11 April 2015 (Genesis Chapters 43 – 50)

Meditation for the week:  But Joseph replied, “Don’t be afraid of me. Am I God, that I can punish you? You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.  No, don’t be afraid. I will continue to take care of you and your children.” So he reassured them by speaking kindly to them.  (Genesis 50: 19-21) NLT

Question: Have you forgiven those who wronged you and despised you? Forgive! Forgive!! Forgive!!!

29 March – 04 April 2015 (Genesis Chapters 36 – 42)

Meditation for the week:  And Joseph’s master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king’s prisoners were bound: and he was there in the prison. But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison. (Genesis 39: 20-21) KJV

Question: Is the LORD with you in that situation?

22 March – 28 March 2015 (Genesis Chapters 29 – 35)

Meditation for the week:  Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments:

And let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went. (Genesis. 35: 2-3) KJV

Question: Do you still have strange gods, habits, addictions in your life? Put them away today and go back to Bethel (House of God)?

15 March – 21 March 2015 (Genesis Chapters 23 – 28)

Meditation for the week:  And Isaac prayed to the Lord on behalf of his wife, because she was barren. The Lord answered his prayer, and his wife Rebekah became pregnant. Genesis 25: 21 (NIV)

Question: How often do you pray or make intercession for your Wife or your Mother?

8 March – 14 March 2015 (Genesis Chapters 18 – 22)

Meditation for the week: God spoke the following words concerning Abraham; For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.”  Genesis 18:19

Question: Does God know you?

1 March – 7 March 2015 (Genesis Chapters 12 – 17)

Meditation for the week: God said to Abraham; “I am God Almighty, walk before me and be blameless. I will confirm my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers.” Genesis 17: 1a-2

22 February – 28 February 2015 (Genesis Chapters 7 – 11)

Meditation for the week: “While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” Genesis 8:22

Question: What seed are you sowing right now and what harvest are you expecting in your life?

15 February – 21 February 2015 (Genesis Chapters 1 – 6)

Meditation for the week:The Lord was grieved that He had made man on the earth, and His heart was filled with pain.”  Genesis 6:6
